Napoleon's Briefing.

First up is a Perry Dragoon General of Brigade. This is a kitbash of a Hussar horse, a dragoon body, an Infantry officer head, and a little green stuff...

I've added with green stuff a left epelet, a sash, and in the back, a catridge box. I think it looks pretty good and he'll be my Dragoon Brigade commander.

I am continueing to paint the Foundary set of napoleon and his staff. You can see the Imperial Aide de Camp officer in light blue behind the Chassuer of the Guard figure.
Ney and Beirtheier argue about which resteraunt to go to.

Ney (the red headed dude) poins out a wine stain on the Emperor's greatcoat. Nappy is not amused.

The guy with the green sachel is an orderly.
I've still have four more figures to finish before this is done. I can't wait to show you the finished results.

Napoleon's Updates

The Light Battalion is complete. Here the elite company of the 5th Light is painted, based and flocked. I can see from the foto I need to flesh wash the faces.

Perry miniatures painted up as a Conscript Gernadier company. Again, fleah washing needs to be done. This will be the last of the battalions for the 2nd Division.

Perry miniatures painted as a Light Battalion. I am using a wash technique with this unit, and the blue is a much lighter shade. I think it works and looks more like a veteran unit in sun faded uniforms.

The command group of the 5th Light Battalion. It's one of the few in which I've added a mounted commander to the battalion stand.

A second veiw of the command stand. There are onlyfive figures on the stand. Six- if you count the horse.

The Workbench

No working area is completewithout the cranky cat to sit around and knock miniatures off the table when the mood strikes. Tigger taking a nap on the balcony.

More progress on the Napoleon group and the artillery limber team.

Only six more figures to complete for the light battalion...and a hundred or so more for the rest of the army.

Updates on French Napoleonics

As you can see from my last post my 28mm French napoleonic army was a bit light on Cavalry and artillery. I've fixed the cavalry part with a box of Perry Hussars and a box of Perry Dragoons. I'll still need one more box of Heavy cav, but the Horse are complete for now. Using the art from the box and the fantastic site I've linked before you can see the second regiment of Hussars will be the 7th.

I already have the 16th Dragoons painted. I'll start on the second regiment using the Perry box set. I'm not sure which unit I'll focus on.

I also worked a bit on the Foundry Napoleon set, finishing off the escort and Imperial orderly. I've re-based the set on a styrene base- much sturdier than the balsawood it was one.
