Solomon Demeter

Completed save for the varnish. You can see the master crafted boltgun on the left side.

The back view, showing the powerpack and the back of the banner.
The rightside showing the modified chainglave.

The front. The model came out a well as I had hoped, but shows me that I need to practice my modeling and painting skills.

Now- the before today pictures:

Ongoing progress on the Army Commander. The added greenstuff is to modify the armor to Mk IV-ish. The weapons are painted but not detailed.

Another pic without the weapons.

April 7 updates

I got just a bit of work done last night due to Biys Scouts. Worked on the banner and basecoat on the upper body. Added fleshwash to the face.

Added fleshwash to the Chaplain. Painted boltgun metal on the pistol.

The damage to the engine cover can be seen just behind the cockpit. The door was made from tinfoil, damaged and them painted. The pilot is missing so I can work on the interior details.

The left side of the speeder showing the gunshield. This is also tinfoil. The gunner's head is being finished.

The flying stand has been reenforced with a piece of copper tubing. It seems my flying models continuely break due to the weak stands...well, not anymore.

Update Picture

Update pics for various troops in the army. The last is a kitbask for the new Army Commander, Solomon Demeter. In the book 'Fulgrim' he has customized his chainsword by making the blade longer and adding a grip so he can use it in two hands. The boltgun is also modified adding an aiming system and some detailing.

Command Group

The Company Banner with the first rough coloring complete. The image is based on the Book of Kells image of the Arrest of Jesus Christ. It is only a bit due to the fact it is Holy Week. The Company Commander (left) and Company Standard Bearer. The Capt is on a resin base. I've redone the back banner on the Capt in purple based on suggestions. I do like the gold on purple. Still need to ink in the name on the Capt's scroll work. Once the banner has a chance to dry a bit, I'll work on some of the details.
The project is coming along nicely.

Emperor's Children WIP

I am working on an Army for Warhammer 40K based on the books The Horus Heresy. This army is the 3rd Legion, or the Emperor's Children. The rules for this game state to have a playable army you must have one Headquarters group and two Troop choices. I have also chosen to enclude an Elite group choice, a squad ten Terminators.
Seen below is the progress to date. These miniatures come from the game Space Hulk. I need to complete the bases on all. The two troop choices are Space Marine Squads of one Sergeant and nine Marines. Seen here are the first squad. The second is the same make-up. Included in the squad is a plasma gun and a flamethrower.
The Company Commander, Capt. Sharpe (or whatever). By the background information found in the rulebooks, the Companies consist of ten squads or ten Marines, a Capt., a Chaplain, a Standard Bearer, and a Apothecary.
See here is the command group. The three three extra figures are from various armies, but are on their way to joining the 3rd Legion.

The whole army as currently planned. HQs, two Troops, and one elite. There is much work to do.

Much painting awaits!
